IBM think is an event that the team at Innovative are extremely proud to help deliver each year for GPJ. Jeremy is the Technical Director for the main theatre space and all technical elements of this show are Innovative’s responsibility. Lighting, audio systems, vision systems, presentation systems, speaker timers, you name it, anything technical is run and managed by Jeremy and his team…right down to the ambient lighting out the back of the stage to make the speakers and presenters feel comfortable and they are in a special and safe place.

IBM branding is always about super clean lines and lots of beautiful white space, so for this year’s event we used our amazing AV Drop screen and backdrop system to make a stunning white set with a very theatrical design. This allowed for stunning projection that not only became the canvas for the presentation content, but also the backdrop to the stage where the opening video was mapped across the entire stage space. Lighting also played a big role in bringing the set to life in a very dynamic way.

For the second year, 4K ONE was the central hub for show control. This made a significant difference to the space required at Front of House and Back of House with so much of the technology that drives the show, now out in the loading dock space not far from the stage.

Finally, to give the live stream a new and exciting element, we run intros, outros and interviews from the ‘news desk’ which is at Front of House up on a riser. The backdrop is the main event stage and the audience at home can really feel like they are in the room, especially when the audience is filling and the background is dynamic.

Key highlights of event:

Definitely the ‘news desk’. This was an idea we carried over from 2022 and this was inspired from all our studio work in The HUB. It gives those watching the live stream a solid anchor to the event and makes them feel like they really are there!
